“BOBBY KE BAGECHE KI KAHANI”

What is this life full of care
We have no time to stand and stare
As a child we are told to be
engineer, doctor preferably

Architecture it had to be
Baroque, classical, modern maybe
Bricks, cement, aluminum and glass
That is not what I had thought

As a child I changed my gears
Several times year after year
Mostly cricket, sometimes commerce
Sometimes no studies at all

I never thought giving flowers to girls would cost me so much
The flowers remained the girls are lost forever
Little did I know what the life had for me
“Baggecha” it had to be

Life was a blast with” Champa “
Little did I know her true name was Plumeria alba
Now I am very careful about names
I ask their family, genre and botanical name.

Bagechha is something which I thoroughly enjoy
Play with the soil, run with the brook and sleep under canopy of sky
From lawns to grasses from shrubs to trees
Bringing in ants, butterflies and birds.

Friends ask me what do I do
Sometimes, farmer, sometimes mali, sometimes Landscape Architect it has to be
They giggle and make fun of me
Not realizing their child is playing in lawn planted by me

That is the last laugh they ever had
Next time around they stand up and raise their hands
Telling the world he is my buddy
Who is trying to make this place living paradise “maybe”.

Good I did not do anything else
Breaking “tendulkars” records would of course have helped
Not that I have forgotten cricket completely
It will have to wait for my other life maybe
