BASICS

Born in once called “Madras” where the season is always hot, sweating away
from pillar to post there was no space where one could relax.

Madras became Chennai Small houses become Apartments touching sky every
developer ran for gimmicks I said to myself where are “Basics”?

I don’t long for power gymnasiums and spa but want to enjoy with my grandpa,
Holding his hand and learning few things which today might sound not so cool.

I want to play, run, and fall mother earth it’s all I want. No fancy skating
rinks or synthetic floors, strange bare ground which is now gone.

Our ancestors used to climb coconut trees at a speed which we could never
believe, today I climb on one bark Mom says” Behave yourself all will watch”.

Where is all the fun to be a child and carefree run to enjoy all the nuances of
play, come home and tell a story each day?

I shout and yell “Give me shade, give me color, give me a pleasant climate”
I don’t want to live in this computed aided image where everything is so fake
and pretentious that life looks like a screen saver.

Let me touch the flowers, the birds and catch a few butterflies Climb up the
tree, jump, and play I don’t want play stations and hi-fi equipments but in
the absence of all do I have any other OPTION?
